More than 120 individuals were in attendence for the first annual BC First Nations Forestry Conference in Delta last week.
In total over 30 industry and government reps joined 103 First Nations participants at the three day conference, which began last Wednesday.
During the first day of the conference, the First Nations Forestry Council announced a joint commitment between them and the province to develop and implement a First Nations Forestry Strategy.
That strategy would see the pair engage directly with Indigenous communities to refine and strengthen the plan.
For the second and third days of the conference, focus shifted to employment opportunities, industry partnerships, and other forestry innitiatives.
