Funding from the province’s Connecting BC Program will bring high speed internet access to 12 rural communities.
Through the grant program, internet service providers are given incentives doled out by the province to improve connectivity in rural and Indigenous communities.
This particular investment will cost the province nearly 300 thousand dollars, which will go to ABC Communications Limited.
In total, the project is expected to cost just under 600 thousand.
Rural Quesnel, Mackenzie, Lakelse Lake, Osoyoos, Bouchie Lake, Salmon Valley, Ten Mile Lake, Lac La Hache, Horsefly, Cherryville, 122 Mile House, and Lone Butte are all among the 12 communities to benefit from the funding.
