Nesika Elementary School in Williams Lake was temporarily locked down today as the result of an overly aggressive parent.
Early this morning, a woman entered the school looking to see her child.
Due to custody issues, she was denied access to the child by school staff and, as a result, became argumentative and aggressive.
She began yelling at staff and students, prompting faculty to contact RCMP.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that the woman had recently left the campus in a vehicle.
They were able to quickly track her down, instruct her to keep her distance from the school and inform her of other ways to deal with custody issues.
RCMP do not believe there to be any further risk, and school activities are proceeding as usual, but the exterior doors to the school have been temporarily locked.
