Louisiana Pacific has announced that they intend to shutdown their Fort St John mill on August 9th.
An indefinite closure at the oriented strand board mill will put as many as 190 employees out of work.
It’s just the most recent blow for the forestry industry, which has seen three mills announce shutdowns in as many days.
In addition, significant temporary closures have already cost the forestry industry more than 80 combined weeks of downtime.
