North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice was in Terrace today to celebrate the opening of two affordable housing projects in the city.
Rice spoke to those in attendence regarding the progress that these new homes represent, and the opportunities they bring to the community.
Terrace Mayor Carol Leclerc and Ksan Housing Society executive director Amanda Bains echoed the MLA’s optimism as they also addressed the crowd.
Ksan will operate both projects, which together will bring nearly 100 new affordable units to the City.
Located on Olson Avenue, the Sonder House modular housing project brings 52 units, each complete with bathrooms and kitchenettes.
Sonder House will help those struggling with homelessness with 24/7 support services, as well as 3 accessible ground-level units.
While an exact move in date for Sonder House has not yet been pinned, most of the units are already earmarked.
In addition to the Sonder House project, Ksan is also operating 45 affordable rental homes as part of their Stone Ridge Estates project, which opened its doors last month.
