Environment Canada says communities in the Northwest and the Cariboo recorded some record temperatures last month.
The City of Terrace was ranked number one for the warmest May on record, with an average monthly temperature of 14.2 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees above the norm.
Smithers and Williams Lake came in tied for fourth place, with both communities posting temperatures three degrees above the monthly normal.
Quesnel came in fifth place with an average monthly temperature of 13.2, which is 2.1 degrees above the monthly norm.
May was also quite dry for Terrace, Smithers, and Quesnel, with rainfall averaging between 33 percent and 55 percent of normal.
