A one-time grant of 100 thousand dollars will help support emergency preparedness in the Cariboo.
Given to the Cariboo-Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association, the funds will help create a set of common communication tools, expand their tourism database, and increase regional training efforts.
All of those projects will work together to help improve emergency communication and enable real-time information sharing.
Northcoast MLA Jennifer Rice says that tourism can play a critical role in keeping people safe in rural and remote communities.
