It’s been nearly 15 years since the disappearance of a northeastern B.C. woman.
Family reported Eva Mitchell missing from her Kelly Lake home August 20, 2004.
The 83-year-old frequently went for walks in the woods to pick berries.
The day after she was reported missing, her dog was found walking home without her.
Dawson Creek RCMP say there was a report of an unknown male living in a trailer not too far from Mitchell’s home, but investigators say he was never been found or identified.
At the time of her disappearance, Eva Mitchell was described as Indigenous, about 130 pounds, standing between 5′ and 5’5″ with grey hair.
Dawson Creek RCMP say the case remains open and active and investigators are continuing to follow up with leads.
Anyone with information about Eva Mitchell’s location or her disappearance is asked to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
