Minimum wage in BC is set to increase to 13.85 an hour on Saturday.
That increase represents a 9.5 percent increase over the current rate of 12.65.
In addition, liquor server minimum wages will increase by 11.4 percent to 12.70 per hour, as the province moves towards eliminating the lower wage class.
Resident caretakers and live-in camp leaders will benefit from a 9.5 percent wage increase.
These increases are just the second in a series of wage boosts slated for June 1st of each year leading up to 2021.
By that time, the province aims to have the minimum wage at at least 15.20 per hour.
