Thanks to 125 thousand dollars in fresh funding, the City of Quesnel is moving forward with their climate policies.
Funding will come from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to help the city hire a carbon review coordinator, and will be split over 2 years.
Thanks to the new position, the city will soon be able to move ahead with their Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation policies.
Over the two year period, the coordinator will be responsible for: developing a greenhouse gas reduction plan, implementing operational and institutional changes to promote a cleaner climate, and helping to move projects from planning to implementation.
