Northern Health has launched a new notification system to help staff stay informed during emergency situations.
SnapComms is a desktop app which provides emergency notifications and updates to health care staff on their computers.
In the aftermath of the 2017 wildfires, an action plan was put together by the Northern Health Emergency Management BC team.
One of the key concerns from that report was the need to improve communication during situations such as wildfires.
Now, after a year and a half of testing and a 2 day pilot in Quesnel, SnapComm has launched.
Northern Health is the first health authority in BC to establish a tool for this purpose.
Updates provided by the app will be region-specific.
