A prescribed burn scheduled for later this week could result in smoke being visible in the Kispiox area.
In an effort to minimize wildfire impacts, the planned burn will reduce wildfire fuels in the area and create space to plant more than 45 thousand trees.
Weather permitting, the burn will begin as early as Wednesday, covering 39 hectares in the Date Creek area, 26 kms northwest of Kispiox.
Residents may see smoke in the air during the burn’s duration, but the blaze is being maintained by trained firefighters.
