Northwesterners began a 248 km walk to promote suicide awareness, mental health, and community compassion yesterday.
Residents will walk from Prince Rupert to Kamloops gathering community stories and and learning of the challenges each community faces.
Titled the Community Compassion Walk, the event aims to kickstart discussions on what each community can do to tackle mental health challenges.
Participants began in Prince Rupert yesterday and aim to arrive in Kamloops on June 21st.
Today, walkers travel 65 kms along Highway 16, wrapping the day’s journey up in Terrace.
