Burning restrictions which came in to effect in the Cariboo today have been expanded further.
As of noon today, all category 2 open burning within the Cariboos Fire Centre’s jurisdiction is banned, but the District has added to the list of restricted activities.
Banned activites now include: open fires larger than half a metre wide by half a metre high, burning of waste or slash materials, all stubble and grass fires, and the use of fireworks, tiki torches, binary exploding targets, barrels and burn cages, and air curtain burners.
Restrictions will remain in place until at least the end of September.
