With the temperature rising every day, the BC Conservation Service is warning residents of Haida Gwaii to watch out for bears and… deer.
Conservations Officers say that they frequently hear about dear fawns being wrongly moved around this time of year.
According to the Service, you should leave deer fawns that you find exposed in your yards for up to 24 hours before attempting to have them moved.
This is because those fawns are often placed there by their mothers while they forage for food.
Of course, this is also the time of year when black bears start to emerge on the islands, and officers are urging residents not to leave attractants, such as garbage, exposed.
