Not only did Terrace host the annual ThriveNorth Business Challenge yesterday, they also kept the majority of the awards in house.
Hosted at the REM Lee Theatre, the event aims to support young entrepreneurs and growing businesses in Northern BC.
Business owners aged 18 to 39 are nominated for a chance at one of three categories, each with a prize of 10 thousand dollars, as well as a 5 thousand dollar people’s choice award.
In the Best New Business 18 to 28 category, Cameron Bell took home top prize for his Terrace-based fresh produce business, Farmer Cam Foods.
All Nations Driving Academy, another Terrace-based business, owned by Lucy Sager nabbed the equivalent award for owners aged 29 to 39.
As the only non-Terrace based winner, Fort St James’s Imperative Recycling, owned by Katrina Slorstad won for Best Growth Opportunity.
Halo Athletic Apparel, another Terrace business, owned by Brittany Kinahan took home the 5 thousand dollar People’s Choice Award.
