Premier John Horgan is calling on the BC Utilities Commission to look in to the province’s soaring gas prices.
With gas prices hitting record highs in some parts of the province, even passing a dollar 70 in some areas, Horgan wants to know why.
According to a letter sent to the Commission by the Premier yesterday, Horgan asked why there is such a disparity between BC and the rest of Canada.
Recently, Horgan has taken a hit from the public, who have linked the gas prices to rising taxes, but Horgan says taxes have remained steady despite the increase.
Horgan says he has recently spoken with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding the issue, and that the said he will have his officials look in to what can be done.
