After standing as her party’s only federal representation since 2011, Green Party leader Elizabeth May now has some company.
Paul Manly has won the Nanaimo-Ladysmith federal by-election, claiming the seat which was left vacant in January.
Prior to then-incumbent Sheila Malcolmson stepping down, the riding had been NDP led.
Manly secured 37.3 percent of the vote, while Malcolmson’s NDP replacement Chief Bob Chamberlain placed third with 23.1 percent.
