In honour of Emergency Preparedness Week in BC, both the Cariboo and Fraser-Fort George Regional Districts are launching their emergency alert systems.
Both systems are designed to notify residents via multiple means, such as home phone, business phone, email, and more, in the event of an emergency.
Residents will only be alerted if a time-sensative situation affects the addresses they register under.
Those wishing to sign up for the system in the Fraser-Fort George District can visit this link and follow the steps.
Note that the system does not cover events within Prince George, McBride, Valemount, or MacKenzie.
In the Cariboo, residents can sign up by visiting their local government’s website or by phone, starting on May 13th.
