Former Burns Lake Mayor Luke Strimbold has pleaded guilty to 4 charges of sexually assaulting teenage boys.
Strimbold, who served as Mayor of the community between 2011 and 2016, was facing 29 sex offense charges, all against minors.
In total, 7 individuals brought forward accusations, all of whome were under 16 at the time of the reported incidents.
Strimbold was elected as the youngest Mayor in BC’s history at just 21, before stepping down abruptly in 2016.
All of the charges relate to the same 2 year stretch, and some are reported to have occurred while he was in office.
Strimbold made his plea during a court appearanc in Smithers Today.
