Houston area residents may see some smoke and fire this spring.
The BC Wildfire Service will doing some pile burning in the Lund Road subdivision to reduce wildfire risks.
Crews will be collecting wood debris from 4.3 hectares of forest that has a large amount of dead and blow-down spruce and pine.
The wildfire service say burning will take place when conditions are right and when the smoke can dissipate as quickly as possible.
The treatments will begin this spring and continue throughout 2019 when fire crews aren’t responding to wildfires.
