The BC government is providing nearly a million dollars in grants to seven projects in the Peace.
The BC Rural Dividend Program will provide $100,000 to the Doig River First Nation to implement a cultural spaces plan for newly acquired land near Fort St. John and nearly 90,000 for the Tansi Friendship Centre Society’s Training to Employment Program in Chetwynd.
The Tsay Keh Dene Nation, in partnership with Clean Energy Consulting will get nearly 500,000 for a sustainable biomass energy project to displace diesel power generation in the Tsay Keh Dene community.
The West Moberly First Nations is being awarded over $99,000 to develop an on-reserve housing strategy.
The Rural Dividend Program funds projects that support economic development and diversification in rural communities throughout the province.
