Two Cariboo-based programs will benefit from community-based funding aimed at reducing gang and gun violence in BC.
Nearly 208 thousand dollars will go to providing youth with an action plan to prevent gang involvement through the Cariboo-Chilcotin Child Development Centre Association.
173 thousand in funding will help the Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre Society to engage with at risk youth in the 100 Mile House area directly to provide them with personalized supports.
In total, six projects received funding under the Gun and Gang Violence Action Fund from Public Safety Canada.
