Mayor Bob Simpson says Quesnel is on the provincial government’s radar following a week of mingling with Ministers in Victoria.
Simpson was initially in town to speak at a Forestry Conference.
But Simpson says he knew of announcements coming at the Conference prior to that, thanks to a phone call with the Premier the week before.
He says Premier John Horgan had called him to catch up on their transition strategy and to give him a heads up on the upcoming announcement.
During that call, Simpson says he and the Premier discussed how well Quesnel’s Future of Forestry Think Tank fits with provincial plans.
Simpson called the fact that the head of the provincial government would call to touch base refreshing, and a sign that they are indeed on the provincial radar.
