The final amount of funding needed to finish off the Upper Skeena Recreation Centre is now in place.
Stikine MLA and forests minister Doug Donaldson was on hand in Hazelton Monday to announce $500,000 from the province’s Rural Dividend Fund.
The centre, which features an NHL-sized rink with seating for 500, a fitness centre, kitchen, and meeting rooms, is expected to open sometime in the fall.
The Hazelton area has been without an indoor ice rink since 2015 after the Ken Tremble Memorial Arena was condemned and torn down.
