Plans to build a 119 room modular hotel in Kitimat have been approved.
Horizon North will partner with Marriott International to bring the new Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites to the town.
Initially, Horizon had proposed a 300 room building, but determined that to be too extreme.
Kitimat Town Council voted to send the development application to the Advisory Planning Commission for consideration.
Once it receives full approval, following an area consultation, the five-story modular building aims to be completed by late 2019.
