Additional educational supports will soon be made available for victims of violence and abuse.
This morning, the Ministry of Advanced Education announced annual funding of 5 million dollars to go towards skills training and employment supports.
More than 450 survivors of abuse will be able to access academic training in courses such as business and administration, and introductory computer courses.
In addition, adult upgrading courses will be made available for those interested in pursuing a post-secondary education.
Counselling, life coaching, and child care will also be supported under the program.
A list of exactly which programs will be available in which locations will be made available in June.
