Two police service dogs helped take down a pair who attempted to flee from police in Prince George this morning.
At around 7:15 this morning, an officer noticed a Ford pick-up which had been reported stolen traveling on Highway 97.
Before the officer could pull the vehicle over, it turned on to Carver Road and got stuck in a nearby field after driving through a ditch.
Two suspects then exited the vehicle and fled on foot through a wooded area.
RCMP service dogs Jak and Taz were deployed to track the pair through 2 kms of bush.
Both the 27 year-old male driver and the 19 year-old female passenger were arrested and are currently in custody.
Police located a loaded shotgun, explosive device, and other weapons in close proximity to the male suspect when he was arrested.
