It’s looking more and more like Williams Lake residents will be facing a one percent tax increase in 2019.
City Council gave first, second, and third readings to their Municipal Tax Bylaw during their regular meeting this week.
Currently, Williams Lake’s residential tax rate sits at roughly 6 percent.
Residential taxes make up over 73 percent of the City’s total tax intake.
Business, industry, and recreation will share in the same tax increase, with utilities left untouched.
Before the tax rate can be finalized, the bylaw must still receive a final reading.
