Kitimat RCMP arrested three youth in connection with a possible threat at a local school.
Staff at Mount Elizabeth Secondary School called police Monday morning to investigate images on social media suggesting a possible explosive threat.
RCMP, the Regional Explosives Unit, and school officials reviewed the text and images and determined that an evacuation was not required. Mounties also notified other area schools about the incident.
Police are reminding the public to report any threats being made on social media.
RCMP are continuing to investigate and say students and staff can expect an increased police presence at area schools.
