A country wide salmonella outbreak has hit BC the hardest.
According the the Public Health Agency, there have been 63 cases linked with the infection recently, with 23 in BC alone.
Infections first hit the radar on March 20th, when an outbreak was declared following the death of 2 Winnipeg residents.
While officials haven’t determined whether salmonella caused the deaths, both had tested positive for the infection.
As of this moment, the source of the infection is yet to be identified.
As a precaution, if you experience intense nausea, vomiting, fever, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, or chills, you should seek medical attention.
