Fifteen industry trade associations and research institutes will receive 7.9 million dollars to support the growth of the wood product market.
That funding, provided via a partnership between federal and provincial programs, will go towards supporting wood product sales both at home and abroad.
Minister of Forests and Lands Doug Donaldson says growing the wood market place will create good jobs in more than 140 BC communities.
In addition to expanding the wood market, the investment will also support innovative research projects across the province.
5.8 million of the funding will go towards expanding the wood market worldwide, while the remaining 2.1 million will go research, marketing, and innovation.
