The Haisla LNG Conference and Trade Show is in full swing in Kitimat.
After a welcome reception Tuesday night, the conference portion began in earnest today with a number of presentations.
Though tickets to the actual conference are completely sold out, residents will still be able to attend the trade show portion of the event.
Haisla Chief Councillor Crystal Smith says they expect representatives from 200 First Nations and private sector businesses to attend.
They are also expecting close to 400 delegates and 110 exhibitors in total.
Presentations and exhibitions will focus on the opportunities LNG brings to the region, with a concerted focus on employment opportunities.
