Public input is being sought in order to better protect the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako from flooding and landslides.
According to the Ministry of Forests and Lands, last year’s wildfires could lead to heightened risks of natural disasters this spring.
In order to best protect against this, the Ministry is asking residents to report any erosion or excess sedimentation observed in waterways, or drainage infrastructure, culverts, and ditches.
Those travelling on roads downslope to burned areas, especially during high snowmelt conditions or during heavy rain, are asked to exercise caution.
Anyone seeking more information, or wishing to report concerns can contact the District at 1 800 320 3339.
