With consultations now complete, the Cariboo Regional District has locked in their 2019 budget and 5 year financial plan.
For 2019, the District’s total operating budget will be 52.9 million dollars, with 25 million of that coming from property taxes.
Grants, fees, and reserve funds will make up the remainder of the budget.
Major projects and services funded this year include: 4 new fire trucks, the construction of a new Emergency Operations Centre, the North Cariboo Airport Service, Benjamin Water Service, and Lexington Water Service.
In total, residents submitted 274 surveys, the answers to which were used to shape the budget.
In addition, the Cariboo-Chilcotin Regional Hospital District also finalized their budget at 9.4 million dollars.
