In light of last week’s tragedy in New Zealand, RCMP in Prince George are reaching out to the local Muslim community to identify any safety concerns.
Police say they have increased frontline presence at some mosques, but that they are unaware of any specific risks.
RCMP are now urging members of the community to report anything suspicious, or any form of hate crimes to police immediately.
