Significant warming expected across the northwest this week has Avalanche Canada issuing a public warning.
According to a release this morning, a dramatic temperature increase combined with increased recreation from spring breakers has resulted in heightened avalanche chances.
Those heading to the backcountry this week are asked to check avalanche dot CA to monitor regional forecasts.
On top of that, those hitting the mountains need to ensure they have all the essential gear, including a transceiver, probe, shovel and an emergency re-grouping plan.
