Drug trafficking offences are up so far in Williams Lake in 2019, despite a significant decrease in possession offences.
Through the first two months of 2019, police have noted 5 drug trafficking offences compared to 3 over the same time period last year.
While that increase may not seem like much, other drug related offences have seen significant drops.
So far this year, police have seen just 9 drug possession offences, less than half of the 20 over the first 2 months of 2018.
Police also reported a sizeable increase in minor mischief charges, with 28 mischief under 5 thousand dollar charges, compared to just 16 last year.
Meanwhile a concerted effort to make the public aware of thefts from vehicles have resulted in a drop from 15 offenses through February of last year to just 4 so far this year.
