South Cariboo RCMP are warning recreational vehicle users and pilots of a man-made hazard on a popular Watson Lake landing strip.
Police were notified on Sunday of a snow berm built across the Lake, near 105 Mile House.
This location is known to be frequently used as a landing and take-off path for local ski plane pilots.
Stretching over 200 metres in length and as high as 1 metre at some points, a considerable amount of snow was moved off the path to construct the berm.
What remains is a significant hazard to those attempting to land in the area and, as a result, police are asking pilots not to use the site.
Police believe whoever constructed the hazard had intended to interfere with snow machines, not planes.
If you have any information that could lead police to the culprit, you are asked to contact 100 Mile House RCMP at 250 395 2456.
