Wildfire fuel management is continuing in the 108 Mile Ranch area beginning this week.
Logging work is being conducted to thin out trees in the area west of the railway tracks ahead of the wildfire season.
While most of this work has been completed, there are still two sections that require heli-logging.
Conducted by the 108 Greenbelt Commission, with the assistance of helicopters provided by Sarvair, that work will pick up this month.
According to the Commission, the work will be completed by April, with seeding beginning in the Walker Valley this spring.
