Quesnel RCMP are investigating an incident near Dragon Lake Elementary School
Police say a 14 year-old boy waiting at the school bus stop Tuesday between 7:40 and 7:45 in the morning was approached by a man in a pickup who offered him a ride. Mounties say the man drove off when the teen refused the offer.
The man is described as Caucasian in his mid 50s to early 60s, clean cut, wearing a brown work jacket, and driving a black early to mid 2000s four door Ford Pickup truck.
Quesnel RCMP don’t consider the incident to be suspicious, but say they want to speak with the man to determine his intentions.
Police say it’s a good reminder for the public to know their surroundings and stay vigilant. RCMP say a good rule of thumb is don’t offer or accept a ride from anyone you don’t know.
The driver, or anyone who may have witnessed this interaction or knows the identity of this man, is asked to call the Quesnel RCMP Detachment to speak with an investigator at (250) 992-9211.
