A local 17 year-old has conquered medical issues, transportation issues, and financial issues to represent the Coast Mountain School District in the Provincial Wrestling Finals.
Rhon Peal, of Hazelton Secondary School, was District 82’s lone representative at the tournament.

Despite an arduous journey to the event in Langley, Peal still managed to place in the top 12, splitting his 5 matches with 3 wins and 2 losses.
Peal, who is of northern First Nations’ decent, suffers from a serious medical condition of which he is the oldest surviving patient at the BC Children’s Hospital.
Rhon has been fighting the disorder since being diagnosed at just 6 years-old; the same age he started wrestling.
Accompanied by his mother, Rhon travelled to both the Zones, where he grabbed gold in the 90 kg division, and Provincials independantly.
All of these accomplishments come despite Rhon suffering from liver failure, brought on by the disorder.
