According to the Federal Government, meetings with 75 percent of First Nations communities included in their TransMountain pipeline consultation process have already been completed.
Last year, a Federal Court of Appeal decision stalled the 7 and a half billion dollar expansion project, due to inadequate consultations with First Nations.
A second round of consultations was then kicked off, headed by the National Energy Board.
Now, Crown Consultations teams have met with 85 of the 117 communities deemed to be affected by the expansion project.
Meanwhile, results from an environmental assessment on the project’s impacts on marine life near Burnaby are set to be released this week.
