Reactions to BC’s 2019 budget, released yesterday, can best be described as lukewarm.
While few stood up to cheer over the new budget, even those less supportive of the government found few worth clamouring over.
Which is to be expected considering the budget itself is, for the most part, a continuation of last year’s.
A few targetted additions, such as the First Nations revenue sharing agreement, and student loan payment changes, were added, but 2019’s version lacks the big announcements of 2018’s.
Finance Minister Carole James says that, with a balanced budget and historic economic growth, this budget focuses more on sharing the prosperity with everyone.
