For the sixth time in a row, Chief Joe Alphonse has been elected to represent the Tl’etinqox First Nation.
Chief Alphonse defeated runner-up Leslie Stump 164 votes to 78 in yesterday’s election.
Joining Chief Alphonse will be 12 band councillors, George Mack, Cecil Grinder, Tyron Harry, Leslie Stump, Harvey Dick, Dale Hance, Ashton Harry, Blaine Grinder, Isidore Harry, Eleanor Cooper, Gerald Johnny, and Brendan Harry.
The newly elected band council will have its first meeting tomorrow.
