BC’s government has voted not to shut down the Auditor General for Local Government program.
Last year, Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Selina Robinson launched a review in to the program.
That independant review, conducted by consultant Kelly Daniels, found the office to be a valuable resource for communities.
According to Daniels’ report, a majority of audited local governments feel they have benefited from the process.
Stakeholders have apparently reported significant improvements in the office over the past 2 years after a rocky start in 2012.
