Protesters opposed to the Coastal GasLink pipeline breifly had BC Environment Minister George Heyman trapped inside his Vancouver office yesterday.
Calling for a cease and desist of all CGL work on Wet’suwet’en territory, the group gathered to demand a firm commitment from Heyman’s NDPs.
This comes following weeks of complaints by Unist’ot’en over the workers’ mistreatment of their land and structures.
Concerns have also been levied by the Unist’ot’en over Wildlife Act violations and a failure to complete an Archaeological Impact Assessment before conducting work.
