Fresh archaeological discoveries have confirmed the 13 hundred year old oral history of the Lake Babine First Nation.
Researchers from the University of Northern British Columbia have uncovered a number of fishing weirs along the shore of Lake Babine.
These weirs would seem to support the oral history of large villages surviving off of salmon existing on the shoreline prior to European settlers landing.
According to the researchers, the weirs discovered were very complex and technologically advanced.
