Williams Lake RCMP presented their 2018 final crime stats to City council yesterday.
Most major crime areas stayed within a 5 percent variance of the year before, though some areas stood out.
Thefts from vehicles saw the largest spike across the year with a 90 percent increase, while thefts of the actual vehicle dropped by 58 percent.
Home owners saw break and enters drop by 47 percent, while business owners actually saw a 2 percent jump in break-ins.
Both assault and assault with weapon offenses are down, 7 percent and 14 percent respectively.
Drug trafficking offenses saw one of the largest jumps with a 39 percent increase in 2018.
In total, police received 7,911 calls for service within the city, and 2,871 in the rural area last year.
