Residents on the B.C. coast may want to batten down the hatches.
Environment Canada has issued wind warnings for Haida Gwaii and the Central Coast as a strong Pacific frontal system approaches.
Forecasters expect strong southeast winds of 90 to 110 km/h over exposed coastal sections of the Central Coast by early this evening.
The gusty conditions are expected to reach Haida Gwaii a few hours after.
Environment Canada says the wind will ease up over Haida Gwaii by Saturday morning, but over the Central Coast it will shift to southwest and stay between 90 and 110 km/h.
Conditions will calm down by Sunday afternoon on the Central Coast.
